SIGMOD 2020 New Researcher Symposium
Every year, the SIGMOD Conference includes a symposium with advice on starting a career in data management. These symposia are both informative and entertaining; they are geared towards graduate students and junior researchers but they often attract a broader audience. This year's symposium will be held virtually on Friday June 19, 7:00-8:00 AM PST.
This year’s topic is "Research and Academia in the face of a Global Pandemic." We have assembled a panel with diverse viewpoints from industry, academia, government funding agencies and a variety of geographical regions.
Given the uncertainty facing many of our community, we are collecting participant questions here: SIGMOD NRS Survey. In a moderated Q&A, the panelists will discuss the main issues and concerns raised by our community members. We will conclude with an informal Q&A session with open questions from the audience.
